Cable Beach Broome Polo Tournament
A down-to-Earth, luxury outback experience in a protected territory where live events are incredibly rare.
The client brief was to immerse guests in the extraordinary natural beauty of the locale by showcasing ‘the best of Broome’ using the vehicle of the only beach polo event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere – Cable Beach Polo! The brief called for a luxury experience in a remote location, which is no easy feat. The location brought complex logistics, limited staffing, strict environmental and council requirements and challenging king tides.
The two day event was a gorgeously-styled affair, bringing international, local and Indigenous polo players together for a world-class tournament that attracts luxury travellers to the remote, Western Australian coastline. EP Agency designed and delivered a VIP Polo Hospitality marquee and the Macquarie Private Bank ‘Dinner Under the Stars’. A nautical theme was overlayed throughout the marquee’s daytime décor. At night, the marquee was transformed by a sunset-inspired, ‘colours of Broome’ palette featuring copper, burnt orange, and rust. A variety of local produce was featured in all menus; particularly the Macquarie Private Bank’s sponsored ‘Dinner Under the Stars’, where the sandy polo field was transformed into an exclusive dining experience in under three hours!
The luxurious menu was designed by Hamish Ingham of Bar H in Surry Hills, highlighting the Pilbara and Kimberley religion with seafood dishes.
Sunday’s polo tournament was rounded-out with a luxury-brand fashion show with Indigenous models from Kimberley Girls, and the grand final played against the backdrop of the sunset over the ocean.
Both the marquee and the dinner were sold out, and this Cable Beach Polo Tournament was declared ‘the best yet’ by locals and visitors across-the-board with many five-star reviews on Facebook.
