Google Summer Party
A summer party like no other where almost 3,000 guests enjoyed a ‘Summer Campus’ themed afternoon of surprise and delight.
To create a fun and memorable sales-led cross-functional event to thank almost 3,000 Google staff and clients for their work and support over the past year. The clients ranged from advertisers, agencies, publishers, government, SMBs and Google For Work clients. The key objective was for guests to have a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon networking with colleagues and clients. The brief included ensuring attendees were “surprised and delighted” with the various elements of the event and to integrate Google technology at various touchpoints.
EP Agency created a Summer Campus themed party at the secret location of Sydney College of The Arts. Through clever event styling, guests were transported back to their campus days from the moment they arrived. There, they downloaded a specially created venue map to guide them to the different event precincts and activities on offer. Each zone was themed differently, from the food quarter complete with food trucks, to the games zone with giant jenga and shuffleboard.
From the chill out area offering bean bags and acoustic music to the showcase the dance quarter where the headline act of Sneaky Sounds entertained guests.
A specially designed Google Cardboard activation provided an underwater Great Barrier Reef experience, while other pop-up entertainment included a marching band, acrobatic cheerleader performance, and dancing mascots!
