Tabcorp Birdcage Marquee - Long May We Play
A floral extravaganza welcomed VIPs, becoming the ‘live cross’ location for key media during Melbourne’s Spring Carnival.
To design and produce a show stopping activation in the Tabcorp Birdcage Marquee for the iconic Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne. The main objective was to build on the success of the previous seven years of executions and continue to surprise and delight guests and elevate their racing experience through a truly breathtaking activation.
EP Agency created a stylish blue and lilac hydrangea theme for the styling of the marquee. From the structure’s facade to the internal walls, guests were awestruck by the stunning floral decoration.
The external mural was commissioned by 12 artists and took over 200 hours to create. A spectacular floral wall nestled into the corner of the marquee structure on a raised platform, creating the perfect photo opportunity.
To elevate the theme, EP Agency commissioned artists to design a floral print from which scarves and headbands were created for the hostesses and feature panels on the wait staff aprons.
Acclaimed Chef Guy Grossi created and prepared a delicious selection of Italian dishes to accompany the Champagne and cocktails available throughout the day. In the afternoon, Darren Purchese served guests an indulgent dessert selection, which were themed to each race day. Finally, a Pavlova station allowed guests to choose their topping from an array of favourites including classic Passionfruit to decadent Champagne Strawberries with White Chocolate and Rose Petal Shards.
EP Agency installed a mega split screen wall that live streamed racing content from all over Australia, switching to full screen mode for the races at Flemington. Electronic betting terminals were readily available around the marquee complete with a live tote.
